Leo G. Belisle, 96, of Hooksett, died December 17, 2020 at his home after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on April 22, 1924 to Napoleon and Auree (Abel) Belisle. He lived in Hooksett for most of his life.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

Leo had owned and operated his long-held family business, Belisle Granite Company in Hooksett, for many years. He started working at the age of 15 in the Belisle family quarry.

He was an active member for 74 years of the American Legion Post 37 in Hooksett where her served as a department commander for the state and was a lifetime chaplain. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hooksett and the Hooksett Entertainers.

He was predeceased by his parents; four siblings, Dorothy Dobrowski, Irene Gravel, Victor Belisle and Andre Belisle; and a great grandson, Wesley Belisle.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Simonne (Mulaire) Belisle of Hooksett; four children, Gloria Levasseur and her husband, Real, and Roland Belisle and his wife, Rose Ann, all of Hooksett, Richard Belisle and his wife, Cathy, of Manchester and Edward Belisle and his wife, Carrie, of Loudon; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Lillian Parenteau and Lena Campbell both of Manchester, Yvonne Beaney of Chester and Roger Belisle and his wife, Claire, of Hooksett; and nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (12/23) at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 21 Main St., Hooksett. A visitation in the church will precede the Mass between 9 and 10 a.m. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines. Burial will be in the spring at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hooksett.
