Tribute & Message From The Family

Norma B. (Stephenson) Barbour, 92, of Manchester died July 10, 2018 at The Arbors with her beloved husband by her side.

She was born in St. John, New Brunswick on April 25, 1926 to George and Alice (Nixon) Stephenson. She graduated from St John General Hospital Nursing School in 1949 and spent the next few years as a Registered Nurse in the Private Patients Pavilion at Montreal General Hospital in Quebec.

After her marriage Norma worked as a Private Duty Nurse at the Sherbrooke, Quebec Hospital and in a private Doctor's Office. Upon moving to Granby, Quebec, she devoted her time to raising her two children. While living in Granby she enjoyed curling with her husband. After moving to Manchester, NH in 1963 Norma became an active member of the First Congregational Church of Manchester and a neighborhood women's group. In 1964 she was a member of the curling team that won the first Invitational Mixed Bonspiel at the Nashua Curling Club.

Norma enjoyed knitting beautiful sweaters, traveling, and, on retirement, winters in Florida.

Family members include her husband of 66 years, Roy G. Barbour of Manchester; two daughters, Jo-Ann Barbour and her husband Gary LeBlanc of Newburyport, MA and Dianne Barbour of Wells, ME; one grandson, Ryan Steiner and his wife Elizabeth Klempa of Medfield MA; and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Steiner, of Medfield MA.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
