Jacob lived with me on Several occasions. His trips from Waterville, via Aurora Illinois, north to Wisconsin .Suddenly he would appear for a visit in Hayward Wisconsin , always with Honey in Hand. I never ask him when he was going to leave. Actually I never cared. I will never forget the morning I woke up , looked out the window and there was Jacob on the lawn chair sound asleep, just where we left him the night before. He was the most loved midwestern boy , sent to Colby College with the other Midwestern boy that could not understand a word anyone was saying. I will be driving though New Auburn hopefully for the rest of my life and Jacob you will always be in my Heart,

Megan, your brother in laws' extended family in Jamul and La Mesa California were inspired by Jacob's strength and your devotion to him. We also know how a country life can help shape a man or woman raised in the nurturing environment of a loving family. Jacob was a force of nature.
May his memory be a blessing.

I don't know Jacob or his family but I have pulled the quote from his obituary and will put it up somewhere to remind me every day that life is precious. Godspeed and thank you for a life worth remembering!

Megan, What a wonderful story about your husband's life. We could all learn a lesson from him and just reading this obituary brought me down to earth about what is really important. Please know that you and the rest of Jacob's family and friends (and pets) are in my heart and thoughts. I hope you realize you can reach out any time if you need anything.

I've never met this remarkable young man, but the author of this beautiful obituary needs to know what an amazing snapshot they composed of his life. It truly reflects the influence Jacob had on his fellow man. God Bless.

I'm sorry for your loss. I've never met not heard of Jacob but after reading his obituary twice I'm sad for never meeting him. I live in Eau Claire, WI. About 40 miles south of New Auburn. His personality sounds so much like my husbands. I fear the day that I lose him. RIP Jacob

Condolences to the Seilheimer family.

What a life, and man! What a loss for his family, friends and the world. I met Jacob through his beautiful bride, Megan, at our college reunion. He was so fun and full of joy. Jacob encouraged me to take a chance on a new guy I was dating (even though he lived on the other side of the world) and I needed that nudge. Happily married 6 years later, Jacob impacted my life with his positive outlook and joyful nudge to give my husband a chance. Megan might not even remember this story but I'm forever grateful I met Jacob (even briefly). I'm calling my loved ones today and giving extra long hugs in Jacob's honor. So sorry for your loss and sending my love.

When my favorite Niece Megan married Jacob Seilheimer in 2012, I knew instinctively that he must be an extremely special person. Although I was unable to attend their ceremony in Mexico, Megan kept all of the family informed of their busy lives and soon thereafter of Jacob's turmoil although expressing it in a casual matter-of-fact manner, which demonstrated then his super-generous attitude of allowing even the most distant relative a slice of his life. At the eve of his demise I was doing some research and stumbled upon The Incomplete Book of Running wherein Peter Sagal divulges his extreme prejudice; that human nature that typecasts another before we even know their story. Pages 162-168 are introspective and illuminating in revealing another glimpse into the life of my late but extraordinary Nephew-In-Law Jacob. May God grant him much deserved peace in his afterlife and inspiration to those left here on this earth

Jacob was young when we left New Auburn so just remember him from being in my daughters class! But following him through his battle with Steve took me on a journey of an amazing young man!
Heaven gained an amazing angel the day he went home! But more amazing is the legacy of goodness he left to our world!
Praying for all his family and friends who are left behind to mourn the loss of Jacob! Never forget tell his life story to everyone!
