Condolence & Memory Journal

Rest in Peace Stephen. Great memories shared back in the days of innocence. Beatles, unlocked doors at home and long-lasting friends. We were blessed.

Steve and I formed a long lasting friendship through the NHPPA. We helped each other on various assignments. We shared our wedding war stories. And always had a way that we developed to control a monthly meeting..... I will miss seeing him or at least chatting with him. He was a friend, that I always enjoyed spending time with. May you rest in peace, Steve. Here's a round of applause until we meet again.

I had the opportunity to work with Steve as a Valet at Elliot Hospital and enjoyed every day I worked with him. He was an excellent communicator with the people he helped. He exhibited a very high ethical standard. We had a number of things in common, sports, family and the love of good music, I did not get a chance to visit Steve while he was at Elliot, but I was able to take him to some of the tests he had. I will always think of him when I pass the Valet podium outside the hospital.

Steve and I shared a 50-year journey together. He would talk with me while waiting for my brother Denny and we developed our own friendship. It blossomed and we were married in August of 1972. With great joy, we welcomed two children into our lives. We journeyed together in the joys of raising our children. Unfortunately, the years took their toll and we found as we grew that we grew apart. Though we divorced in October of 1992, we remained friends. We stood together and watched our children marry and begin their own families. We journeyed together as grandparents to our wonderful grandchildren. And then he allowed me to journey with him as he faced this illness, helping where I could. And now we come to the end of this journey. I will miss you, Steve, and I pray that you now rest with the angels. Love, Kathy

"To Steve's children, grandchildren, and all his loved ones ~ I will truly miss Steve as my neighbor. Already I feel his absence, not seeing him walking in and out, with his friendly smile and pleasant conversations. May you all find comfort in your memories of Steve. ~ Cindy Sheehan, Friend and Neighbor

My friendship with Steve started in the Boy Scouts, blossomed in our Bishop Bradley high school years, and lasted a lifetime. I believe such early friendships play a significant part in defining one's personality and perspectives on life which are carried into adulthood, and in that regard Steve has always been a part of me. Although we lived on opposite coasts for over 50 years, I know I shall miss him dearly. My wife Daphne and I wish to offer our heartfelt condolences to Steve's family. Rest in peace, my friend!

My Uncle, We have had many great memories together dating all the way back to when I was a child. It would be hard to pick one. You photographed my family for most of my life. We shot baskets across the street from Grammy and grandpa's house. We golfed together numerous times. Played many hands of cribbage and countless other times just laughed. So if I'm to pick just one memory let me remember the laughter and smile at how much I love having you as my Uncle and god father. You will sincerely be missed.

To the Vieira family, I remember Steve with great fondness. He photographed my wedding in 1984. We used to play golf together back in the 80s. I still recall playing my last round of golf with him in 1990 at the Charmingfare Golf Club (now Candia Woods) before I had to give up the game while running for the state Senate that summer. We lost touch after that, but I always considered him a friend, and I'm sad to hear about his passing. You have my condolences.

Memories we have of Steve are through his Photography. So many smiles from him as he was building our memories of special events. The photos he took at three family weddings were so "thoughtful". It was easy to see that he loved what he was doing as he took each photo. Talked to him a couple of weeks ago and learned of his illness. We caught up on his family. He was very proud of all of you. So sorry he had to go through such a time in his life. To the family I can say that you were his "all". We knew you vicariously through your father. Your memories of him will surface through normal everyday activities. I know you will enjoy those memories forever. Fondly, Laura and Bob

I'll always remember your laugh and how you always had a song in your head. You were always so caring and was willing to help me out when I was in a bind. I wish I had one more chance to sing with you, Uncle. Rest In peace Uncle Steve.
