I'm writing on behalf of my grandmother, Faith Cofer, who grew up with Hattie in Amagansett. She said she has lots of fond memories and is so sad to hear of her passing before she could reach out to her. Thinking of her family.

Dear Joanne, Martha, Margaret, Suzie and Peter,
Your mother's death is a sad and solemn milestone for me and my brothers, as it marks the end of an entire generation of aunts and uncles whose love knitted our families together for so many years. When Hattie came to my mom's memorial gathering in 2006, it was the first time I had seen her in many years, and I immediately sensed her wisdom, empathy and character. I know nothing about her latter years, but pray that her extraordinary love for the five of you sustains you in this difficult time. Blessings to you!

To our cousins, the Carey ladies and Peter, and your families:
Both Anne (McGovern) Leahy and I, Jay, were saddened to hear of the passing of your mom. But what a good, long and accomplished life she had!
We both have fond memories of her, your dad and all of you in the early years. Holiday gatherings in Hingham--or more frequently at 63 Governors Road in Milton, with our "grampa" and Nellie, or in Wellesley. Because of distance and our busy lives over all of these years, we have not stayed in touch as much as we would have preferred, but we love
all of you, and feel connected to all off you, as family. You are in our prayers.
Jay and Anne
