Obituary

Lorraine Rose Daly, 75, of Manchester, died January 1, 2021, at The Arbors of Bedford, after a period of declining health. Born in Manchester on August 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Lussier) Vachon. She was a graduate of Ste. Marie High School and a lifelong resident of the Queen City.

Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at St. Francis of Assisi Parish for 15 years, then as scheduler at the NH Heart Institute at Catholic Medical Center, and finally as box office coordinator at the Dana Center at St. Anselm College. She fully retired in 2013.

Lorraine enjoyed numerous travels around North America, Europe, and the Caribbean with her beloved husband Robert. She enjoyed vacationing at Hampton Beach in the summer and spending any time at the beach as often as she could. African violets were her favorite flower. She brought out the best in them. When she wasn't tending to her African violets, you could often find Lorraine and Bob outside, spending hours in their vegetable and flower gardens. Most evenings at home were spent having a relaxing dinner and watching her favorite show, Jeopardy, with Bob. Sometimes, they might end the evening dancing together in the living room.

Lorraine was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply. She had a marvelous sense of humor and was always fun to be around. Above all, Lorraine will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, Mémère (Mem to the kids), sister, aunt and friend.

Surviving family members include her husband of almost 40 years, Robert Daly of Manchester; three children, Kenneth Morel and wife Jodi of Goffstown, Paula Tanner and husband Barry of Thornton, and Thomas Daly and wife Erin of Nashua; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Cody and Kiley Morel, Mackenzie and Brock Tanner, and Grace and Bryce Daly; four sisters, Dolores Lynch of Concord, Pauline Vachon of Milford, Diane Soucy and husband Paul of Manchester, Denise McMahon and husband Raymond of Goffstown, brother-in-law, Gerard Beland of Manchester, sister-in-law and friend, Therese Vachon of Concord and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both parents, her sister, Yvette Beland, and two brothers, Philippe and Normand Vachon.

SERVICES: A graveside service with masks and social distancing will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 8th, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Rd., Manchester. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Jude Church, Londonderry, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or Families in Transition, Manchester (fitnh.org).
