Obituary

Rita M. Bean, 92, longtime resident of the Keene area died peacefully June 17, 2018 after a period of declining health.
Born in Keene on November 9, 1925, she was the daughter of Edgar G. and Laura B. (Arseneault) Helie. She was educated in the Keene school system.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a bookkeeper for Plotkins Furniture in Keene.
Quick witted with a big heart, Rita loved knitting, bowling, and playing cards and going dancing with her sisters. She was a talented cook, well known for her crepes and her spaghetti alle vongole which she first learned to make while living in Italy. She held a deep love for animals, especially her cat, Simba. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt who cherished time spent with family. Her warmth, humor and wit will make her sorely missed but fondly remembered.
She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Bean Sr. in 2004 and a grandson, Michael Bean in 2016. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Germaine Lambert and Irene Parenteau and nephew Douglas Carey.
Family members include her grandsons, Kenneth Bean Jr. of Auckland, New Zealand and John Bean of Hawkinsville, Ga.; her great grandson Oliver Bean of Auckland, New Zealand; her sister, Lucy Mallet of Bedford; her nieces Sandra Carey of Keene, Theresa Parenteau of London, England, Debra Mahoney of Bedford, and Lisa Ann Mallet of Hooksett; her nephews Stuart Carey of Keene, Steven Carey of Keene, Kevin Carey of Keene, John Parenteau of Keene, David Parenteau of Gilsum, Timothy Parenteau of Shanks, W.
