Obituary

Ronald P. Budway, Sr., 81, of Hooksett, died April 9, 2018, at Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Berlin, NH on July 3, 1936, he was the son of E. Lloyd and Thelma (Story) Budway. Ron graduated from Manchester Central High School and earned his MBA at NH College. In 1954 he enlisted in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. He worked as CFO/Controller for various businesses during his career. He retired as CFO from White Pines College and then worked for fifteen years as an Accounting and Business Math professor at the Manchester Community College before his final retirement in 2014.
Ron was a very intelligent and easy going man who loved to read. He enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of The Intervale Country Club for 60 years, where he also enjoyed playing poker and cribbage. In his youth, Ron played hockey in his hometown of Berlin. For many years he enjoyed sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee, Great Bay, and off the coast of NH. Ron had a passion for music and loved listening to The Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett, and Hank Williams. Nearly every morning he could be found at Dunkin Donuts drinking coffee, reading the Boston Globe, and socializing with friends. He treasured time spent traveling with his family to the White Mountains, Canada, and especially Cape Cod where he and his wife Charlotte would spend their anniversary every year playing golf. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.
Family includes his beloved wife of 50 years, Charlotte A. (Gadbois) Budway of Hooksett; two daughters, Lisa Gray of Deerfield and Deborah Dross and husband Steven of Pittsfield; two sons, Ronald Budway, Jr. and wife Rebecca McLeod of Milford, and Matthew Budway of Hooksett; five grandchildren, Matthew Gray, Louis Lamarche III, Michael Gray, Melissa West, and Emmalene Budway; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
